The Power in Reclaiming Your Story

Three years ago, Isabella and I started this business with a simple hope: to create something meaningful for people who often feel overlooked, especially those living with chronic illness or navigating life outside the lines.

I had no way of knowing exactly what we were building then. I just knew I was tired of waiting to feel “better,” “normal,” or “more ready” before I allowed myself to show up completely and wholly as I was. I was tired of shrinking to fit into spaces that were never meant for me in the first place.

What I’ve learned in these three years is that there is immense power in reclaiming your story.

Not the polished and perfect story we’re told to tell, and not the one we think will make people comfortable or proud. It’s the one that’s been shaped by your pain and persistence, your burden and your bravery. The one that unfolds in your own voice, your own time, and your own words.

Creating this business, this art, and this space has been an act of taking back my voice again and again. It’s a constant return to the truth that we are allowed to take up space, even when our bodies or our lives don’t look the way everyone else may expect.

And in this creation, I’ve stumbled across the stories of others—raw, real, and extraordinary in their resilience. I’ve watched people step into their power not by pretending they were fine, but by allowing themselves to be fully seen, and that’s what Port Creative Co. is all about.

It’s not just about art, products, or social media posts. It’s about deep connection. It’s about dismantling the idea that we have to earn our worth, perform our pain in palatable ways, or explain ourselves into being believed. It’s about holding the door open for the next person who needs to be reminded: Your story isn’t too much. You are not too much.

So as we celebrate three years of this imperfect, evolving, deeply personal work—I want to say thank you.

To those who have followed along since the beginning, and those who are just finding their way here: your presence means the world. You are part of this story now. And I hope, in some way, this space helps you feel a little more free in your own.

Here’s to continuing to create from the cracks, to telling the truth even as it shakes, and to reclaiming the story—again and again.
